Personal Update

We finally found an a apartment and will be moving into it on August first. We are thrilled that we will finally have a place of our own again, I am thrilled that I will have a home to tend to! What I am not thrilled about is that all of our belongings are in Illinois and to rent a truck would cost over $1000 including gas! I get discouraged but I am trying to look at it with a retro military wife mindset. Back then there weren't special pays and allowances for dependents, housing was provided but it was far different than the housing of today. The women had to get very creative to decorate their homes.

I look at this as a challenge, it is quite easy to go out and charge a furniture set, it all goes together nicely and coordinates. It is much more difficult to have patience, shop thrift stores, pieces together fabrics and slowly build the interior of your home. I am a funky , quirky person anyway so I am not buying anything that I don't love, nothing that doesn't yell my name. But I am having a very hard time with temptation especially when around fabric in the stores...I saw the cutest cupcake fabric that would make the most whimsical kitchen curtains!!****sigh**** in time, in time.
